The five questions you get every week from parents

Tap one. These are the questions this trade gets every week, answered from your own class list, prices and hours.

My child is seven. Is that too late to start piano, and which class would they join?
Seven is a common starting age, so no. She would join Piano Foundation 1, which takes ages six to eight in groups of four. The teacher confirms placement at the trial lesson.
Do we need an instrument at home before the first lesson, and can we rent one?
Not for the trial, a keyboard is provided in class. For regular lessons we ask for a keyboard at home by around week three, and we can point you to a rental option.
Do you prepare students for ABRSM or Trinity exams, and up to which grade?
We prepare students for ABRSM up to Grade 8. Which grade a student sits, and in which session, is something the teacher decides with you rather than something set in advance.
Is it the same teacher every week, and what happens if that teacher leaves?
Yes, students stay with one teacher for continuity. If a teacher moves on, the school arranges the handover with you directly rather than reassigning quietly.
How much practice at home is expected, and what if we cannot keep up?
Foundation students are asked for about fifteen minutes on most days. If a week goes badly, tell the teacher and they will adjust what is set rather than push on regardless.

What it handles, when parents message you

The 10pm starting-age question

Parents decide to enquire the moment they see another child play, which is almost never during office hours. Every one of those questions gets the same answer a Saturday morning walk-in would.

Instruments, rental and what is needed when

The question that stops a parent booking is usually logistical, not musical. It answers what is provided in class and what is needed at home, from your own list.

Trial lessons into real slots

It offers only the trial slots you left open, books the one the parent picks, and stops offering that seat to the next family.

Placement and teachers stay with the school

It will say which class takes which ages and which exam board you prepare for. Whether a particular child is ready for a grade, and who teaches them, is handed to you every time.

Marcus YipFounder, ExcuseBeeMore about me

I got tired of watching good marketing go cold at 10pm.

Some of my friends run music and enrichment schools. One teaches piano herself and answers enquiries between lessons, phone propped on the music stand. A parent watches a recital clip at 10pm and messages that night. By morning the clip has scrolled away, and the enquiry with it.

I was the CTO of Singapore's top real estate media and tech agency. That is why Bee only answers from what you gave it, and never starts a conversation on its own. I was not willing to ship something that speaks to your customer in ways you did not approve.

S$199 a month, and Meta bills you separately.

You pay us

S$199/month

Bee answers your WhatsApp, day and night, and books the trial lesson. Everything in the Pro content plan is included, so you never have to choose between the assistant and the posts that bring the enquiries in.

Meta bills you

Their rate, your card

WhatsApp message charges go straight from Meta to you, on your own account. We do not buy them and resell them to you, and we cannot mark them up, because the account is yours.

Most of Bee's replies cost nothing: Meta does not charge for messages sent inside the 24-hour window a customer opens by messaging you. Only the ones Bee sends after that window closes are billed, at about two cents each in Singapore. Rates checked 2026-09-02.

S$199 is not the expensive option. It is the one with the agent in it.

The cheap plans are cheap because they are an inbox. The thing that answers your customer at 9.47pm sits one or two tiers up, and it is usually charged again on top.

Comparison columns are Wati Growth and Wati Pro, billed monthly, plus the Astra AI add-on, as published to a Singapore visitor and retrieved 2026-09-01. Wati is used because it prices in SGD, so nothing is lost in conversion. SleekFlow prices its own AI tier at S$199, the same as ours, and is the fairest like for like in the market.

The capability rows come from Wati's own help centre, retrieved 2026-09-01. Wati's Astra agent trains on website links, documents and question and answer pairs, crawls subpages when you ask it to, and is re-trained after you edit the content. Connecting it needs a Wati Pro or Business plan, and it syncs up to 60 days of conversations already held inside Wati. Wati's Google Sheets integration is a chatbot feature on Pro and Business, not a published source the agent reads. On the 24 hour window, Wati publishes the rule, that a message sent outside it without a template is not delivered, but not that its agent sends one to keep the conversation going. Where Wati does not publish, this table says Not published rather than guessing.

What it already does for your music school

These eight are live today, not on a roadmap. Here is what each one does for your music school.

It learns how you talk

Send Bee a WhatsApp chat export. It reads your old conversations and picks up your phrasing and your usual answers.

It reads your website

Paste your web address during setup. Bee goes through the pages to learn what your music school really does and sells.

Change a price, and the next reply knows

Connect a sheet of prices, classes or stock. Bee reads it fresh on every answer, so an edit in the sheet is live straight away.

It books into your calendar

Connect your calendar. Bee offers only the slots you left open, then books the one the customer picks.

Nothing sends without your say-so

Bee writes the reply and waits for you to approve it or change it before anything sends. Off by default, on when you want it.

It never replies to your family and friends

Bee reads each message. If it is plainly personal, a friend making plans or a family matter, Bee stays quiet and leaves it for you. If it is not sure, it answers, because silence looks like a broken number.

It answers even after 24 hours

WhatsApp shuts the free reply window a day after a customer writes. Bee carries on with a message template Meta has approved, so a late reply still lands.

It knows when to stop

A hard ceiling of 500 replies a day and 20 turns in one chat. It can never run away with your account.

Frequently asked questions

Can a WhatsApp assistant tell a parent which class their child should join?

It can say which class takes which ages and which instruments, because that is a fact on the school's own class list. Whether a particular child belongs in that class is a placement judgement, so the assistant books the trial lesson and lets the teacher confirm on the day.

Will it promise a parent their child can pass a grade exam?

No. Exam outcomes are exactly the kind of promise the assistant is built not to make. It will say which exam boards a school prepares for and up to which grade, and it leaves readiness and timing to the teacher.

Which WhatsApp number does the assistant answer on?

It runs on the school's own WhatsApp Business account on Meta's official Business Platform, not on a line ExcuseBee owns. How your current number fits into that is part of what we set up together, so ask us about your specific situation rather than assuming either answer.

What if a parent asks for a fee discount or a sibling rate over WhatsApp?

The assistant escalates it. Fee exceptions are not something it grants on its own. It tells the parent the school will confirm, and that conversation is waiting for the school in the app.

Is there a separate price for the WhatsApp Assistant?

The WhatsApp Assistant plan is S$199 a month, and it includes everything in the Pro content plan. Meta charges for the messages themselves, billed to the school by Meta on the school's own account, and ExcuseBee does not mark those charges up.

Do parents message in more than one language?

Frequently. The Assistant is multilingual and replies in the language a parent actually writes in, including Mandarin and Singlish, which matters in a music school where grandparents are often part of the decision.
